$25 BFS REEL?!

A few years ago I accidentally purchased a BFS reel on Ali Express (The PW100, for BFS fans) while shopping for a good do-everything casting reel. The reel was DEFINITELY not suited for what I wanted, but it was so great for throwing small crankbaits and jerkbaits that I purchased a second one for about $60. That reel made me a big believer in BFS gear.

Since then I’ve tried 6-8 “budget” BFS reels for under $40. None of them were complete junk, but none of them were really that great either. They definitely were not as capable as that PW100. Well, I finally found one that I liked. In November of 2024 I stumbled on a reel for $18 that looked intriguing. At that price, it wasn’t much of a gamble, so I gave it a shot. It’s now my new favorite BFS reel.
